Stance

Take this slowly, stay balanced, and ask your coach when something feels unclear.

category

stance

plain english

How you stand to box: feet roughly shoulder-width and staggered, knees soft, weight even, and your body turned slightly side-on.

example

“Check your stance” means look down and fix your feet.

why it matters

Everything else is built on it. Balance, power, and being able to move all come from the feet being in a sensible place.

common mistake

Standing with the feet in a straight line, like on a tightrope, which removes all sideways balance.
