Neutral corner

Take this slowly, stay balanced, and ask your coach when something feels unclear.

category

ring

plain english

Either of the two unused corners of the ring. After a knockdown, the standing boxer is sent there so the referee can count without anyone being in the way.

example

The referee points you to a neutral corner after a knockdown.

why it matters

You will hear it in fights and in gym rules. It is not your corner and not theirs — it is a safety space.
