Chin position

Take this slowly, stay balanced, and ask your coach when something feels unclear.

summary

Keeping the chin tucked down and behind the lead shoulder, where your own body protects it.

steps

  • Drop your chin toward your chest until you feel the top of your gloves at eye level.
  • Turn slightly so your lead shoulder sits between your chin and what is in front of you.
  • Keep your eyes up. If you are looking at the floor you have tucked too far.
  • Check it after every combination — the chin is the first thing to drift when you get tired.
