Being asked to spar
Take this slowly, stay balanced, and ask your coach when something feels unclear.
what to do
- • Ask who will supervise it and what equipment is required.
- • Confirm you have headgear, a mouthguard, and the right gloves.
- • Say not yet if you are not ready.
what not to do
- • Do not agree because you feel put on the spot.
- • Do not spar without a qualified coach present.
why it matters
Sparring is never compulsory and never casual. It requires a qualified coach, headgear, and a mouthguard, without exception.
